Which water bottle would you choose?

acupuncturepluscli

I must pick from these bottles before my workout…. which one? ….. but is it healthy?

I take my first swig ...URG, tastes off, oh well I need to drink, I need to hydrate right!!!

This might not be as healthy as you think. Unwanted mold. This mold growth may not only be disgusting it can create some possible health risks.

MOLD SIGNS IN YOUR H20 BOTTLE

Do you refill your water bottle repeatedly without a proper cleaning?

If so, mold may be present.

Signs of mold.

  • Fuzzy gross stuff on the cap itself.

  • Black, white or green spots on the side of the container.

  • Unpleasant odour.

  • Cloudy water.

  • Bad taste.

MOLDY WATER BOTTLE- You are at risk….?

Most mold is relatively harmless if our immune system can handle it. However, why stress the system, and some are just more sensitive to mold exposure than others especially if you have a weaken immune system.

Some symptoms may include headaches, fatigue, nasal congestion, nausea, or an upset stomach.

CLEANING YOUR BOTTLE

So, you found mold… like I just did today in a couple of my bottles.

Urg toss them…. NO just clean them.

Mold like damp conditions. So, clean it with vinegar and water swoosh it around. Then get a clean dish cloth and rub the sides. If you cannot get all the sides stick the end of a long serving utensil in to rub the sides with the dish cloth. Then this is important completely dry it even if it takes over night. The cap too!! clean and dry.

Remember to store with lid off to prevent regrowth.

If you cannot get those stubborn black, green spots off time to get a new bottle!!!

PREVENTION IS THE KEY

Clean and dry daily
